Barcelona vs Real Sociedad

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad

Spanish La Liga

Date: Saturday, 15th April 2017

Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona.

After two bitter defeats in both La Liga and UEFA Champions League, Barcelona will attempt to mend their wounds against Sociedad. The Catalonians failed to score in the previous two matches; at first, they were stunned in Malaga 2-0, only to be crushed by the Bianconeri in Turin with the result of 3-0.

Real Sociedad finally won the game in the previous round when they beat Sporting Gijon 3-1, but taking into account they have never won a point at Camp Nou, surprising Barcelona on Saturday could be a mission impossible.

Barcelona

The Catalonians are certainly in a slump after failing to score in the two consecutive matches. In the match against Malaga, Neymar picked up a red card and a two-game suspension, which rules him out for the upcoming El Classico.
However, their form at Camp Nou is very solid – they won the last eight matches, winning at both half-time and full-time in 7 out of last 8 matches.

Real Sociedad

The guests got back onto winning track but it probably won’t last long since they have one of the most difficult visits upcoming.
With three points from the last round, Sociedad are back into the 6th position. In order to reach UEFA Europa League as the season is coming to a close, Real Sociedad must preserve minuscule point lead over Eibar and Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: Head-to-head

The Catalonians hold the perfect record against Real Sociedad – the guests are without a win at Camp Nou for more than 20 years. This season, they met three times already. Barcelona won both Copa del Rey matches, but Sociedad snatched a point in the league fixture back in November as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw.

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: Prediction

Barcelona must go for three points in this match in order to preserve hopes of lifting the La Liga trophy this season. However, Real Sociedad certainly won’t make it any easier since even a point at Camp Nou would certainly be a solid result.
